Here's another trick once they get older and can spell... pig Latin works for a while, but then you may have to put your treat in a coffee cup and pretend it's hot... "don't touch!" I've done that with diet coke or even wine.
The older they get, the more creative you have to be in hiding the real world of adult life :)
Maybe that is why all the Plueddemann cousins are so smart... they learned how to spell & learned pig-Latin (foreign languages) very early in life!
